GS Film number 942.74 G4 V26CThe above father James married Alice Raw and the names James and Alice feature in their grandchildrens names.
There are two possible marriages to David Alderson and it is not clear if there were two (or more) David's or whether David married at least twice. David Alderson and Sarah Peacock on 20 Jan 1732/3 in Muker - both from the Parish of Granton, and David Alderson and Elizabeth Blacklen on 16 Jan 1737 in Asby, Westmorland.
There is the death of a Sarah Alderson, wife of David Alderson in Arkengathdale in 1765 so it is unlikely that the same David married both Sarah Peacock and Elizabeth Blacklen.
The children being born to a David of Birk Dale commences in 8 Jan 1738/9 with Alice and so it is likely these were from the family of David and Elizabeth who were married in 16 Jan 1737. There is a William baptised 25 Mar 1738 in Arkengarthdale who also could be in this family.
The child of the David and Sarah is likely to be:
* James bap 12 Jan 1733/4 at Muker, father David Alderson of HoartonWife Sarah dies in Arkengarthdale in May 1765, "wife of David Alderson". This is not likely to be the David the father of children born in Birkdale, Muker. This David was having children all recorded at Birkdale with baptisms from 3 Jan 1738/9 to 12 Nov 1752. This David would appear to be the husband of Elizabeth Blacklen. Elizabeth the wife of David dies 1798 in Muker which shows his wife's name was Elizabeth.

Elizabeth's grave stone gives her birth as about 1750. The following baptism looks the most likely. The names of David, Elizabeth(Betty), Anthony and Isobel all appear in their childrens names. These would be the children's grandparents.
