It is assumed that Thomas' parents were Elizabeth and Andrew as these are the first names of his children. The age is also about right.
It is not clear who Andrew's parents are. Although there is an IGI reference to an Andrew McMillan baptised 12 Nov 1693 in Dalkeith to an Andrew McMillan and Jannet Bennet, the supporting records cannot be found and thus this cannot be confirmed at this stage. The names Andrew and Jannet do not appear in the chidrens names and so this must be questioned. The marrage of those potential parents in Scotland Marriages 1561-1910 is:
