17. Thomas MCMILLAN

There is only one Thomas McMillan listed in the IGI or Scotland's baptism that was born around 1780 in Dalkeith or Midliothan - the son of William McMillan and Alison Lindsay.  The naming of Thomas' children would suggest this is the correct family.

In Thomas's death registration in 26 Dec 1861 no parents were listed by the informant, a Thomas McMillan, grandson.  He was described as 71 years old in December 1861 i.e. born about 1790.  Since he was married in 1801 he was more likely born about 1780.

Margaret BELL

Margaret seems to be called "Ann" in the 1841 census.  Her death registration gives her father as James, a seaman.

33. Grezel MCMILLAN

Grezel is in the 1841 census with the McMillan family but it it possible that Grezel was in fact Thomas and Margaret's grand daughter.  There was a Grizal McMillan born to William McMillan and Agnes Cavan on 18 Mar 1828 in Wigtownshire, Scotland.  This was just before William was married to Christina Rankin.
