Eustace Milner Baxendell was born in 1877 and died young from corn dust in the lungs in 1918. Robert BAXENDELL(1825-1895) owned a flour mill in Manchester, probably in the Salford area. He started out as a Corn Factor, then became a Corn Merchant and finally owned his own mill. It was inherited by his son Walter BAXENDELL(1854-1924)., who sold it to the Co-op, probably on the untimely death of his son Eustace Milner BAXENDELL in 1919. It must have prospered; Eustace left 84,000 pounds in his will in 1914 and Walter left 154,000 pounds in 1924.
