He married Mary Rotherham and they had one child Martha who married Doctor John Claxton. Their child John married Mary Summerland, one of 6 children, whose mother was a Mary Tipping 1756 - 1834 and father was William Summerland 1767 - 1734. This family were of Uttoxeter and possibly Liverpool and seemingly butchers. People in this line are said to be involved in the slave trade possibly abolitionists. Son Joseph 1789- 1824 may have had criminal tendencies and also may have been in Liverpool and a bankrupt?
They were looking like a part non Quakers family with family disputes and court cases over Williams will. There was what looks like Established Church marriages not far down the line in Liverpool.
