OCEAN RESCUE
After having been adriftabout 10 miles outside Sydney Heads practically all day, three men in a 45-foot launch were rescued by the pilot steamer Captain Cook last night and brought into Double Bay. The men. Norman Halloran, 42. and Len Gould. 38, both of Marrickville, and Robert Ross,45, of Croydon, owner of the launch, left Double Bay early yesterday morning to fish ll miles outside the Heads. The engine broke down three times during the day as they tried to return to the harbour. Darkness fell before they were able to start the engine for the fourth time. The men used a small spotlight to signal for help continuously during the night. South Head Signal Station reported the distant signals, and the Captain Cook went to their rescue. The police launch Adastria landed the three men at Double Bay early this morning. Six weeks ago Halloran was rescued from a launch about seven miles outside thc Heads.
