Note: The 1849 registration is just a copy of the 1843 birth and is not a new registration of an additional child.

10th September 1864 John Nimo, bachelor, Australian, boiler maker, of age, from St Peters Cooks River to Mary Elizabeth Elvy, spinster, Australian, no calling and under age from Pyrmont. According to the rites of the Church of England. In the presence of Lindsay Nimo (presume John's father), Elizabeth Nimo (presume John's sister) and Christina Elvy (presume Mary's sister).

Lindsay Leonard Nimmo was born 31 July 1871, and was baptised on 24 March 1872 at St Peters Church of England Cooks River in the county of Cumberland NSW. His father was John Nimmo and mother was Mary Elizabeth Nimmo of St Peters.

THE FRIENDS of Mr. JOHN NIMMO are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of his late deceased MOTHER-IN-LAW, the late Mrs. Bridget Elvy ; to move from his residence, George-street, Waterloo, near Raglan-street, THIS AFTERNOON, Monday, at quarter past 2 o'clock, for the Necropolis. J. and G. SHYING.


It is not clear what happened to Mary Elizabeth Nimo as when John Nimo died in 1920 he was buried with his mother and father at the Field of Mars.

In the 1893, 1894 and 1896 Sands Directories of Sydney NSW was listed:
Nimo, John    South Street, Drummoyne

In the 1901 Census J Nimmo is living with another male in Polding Street, Drummoyne.

In 1901 John Nimmo, of Polding St, Drummoyne made application to re-bury from Sydney Burial Ground to the Field of Mars Presbyterian Plot 663-5 the following:
Charles Nimo who died 17 August 1829
Mary Ann Nimmo who died 29 September 1829
Catherine Nimo who died 17 July 1850
Lindsay Nimo who died 13 December 1864

NIMMO. - June 23, 1920, at Lynwood, Merton-street, Rozelle.  John, the dearly beloved brother of Mary Ann Llewellen, aged 78 year.  His end was perfect peace.

John's probate papers are held by NSW State Records, Series 4, Item 112755, box SC004188.
John of Rozelle, died 23 June 1920.  He was a retired fettler.  He gave all of his assets of 205 pounds to Sydney City Mission.

John is buried at the Field of Mars Presbyterian Section in Grave  No. 663

The grave transcription reads:

"To the Memory of Catherine Nimo who departed this life 17th July 1850 aged 31 years leaving a husband and 3 children to lament their loss. Also Lindsay Nimo husband of the above who died 13th Dec 1864 aged 82 years. Also John Nimo son of the above who departed this life 23rd June 1920 aged 78 years. Erected by his loving sister M.A. Llewellyn."

Mary lists herself on the NIMO grave stone as M. A. Llewellyn.

The marriage below seems to have some errors - Lindsay was Mary's father's Christian name, and Llewellyn is miss-spelt.

There are at least 2 Police Gazette Notices for the arrest of John Francis Llewellyn for failing to support his wife in 1915 and in 1926.  He is of the correct age in both notices. (47 in 1915 and 58 in 1926).

Mentioned in his mother's funeral notice in 1925 as Mr and Mrs John Llewellyn and family.  No later mentions by family notices, ie in 1938 in the funeral notice of his nephew Harold Williams (where all his living siblings were mentioned) he is not mentioned and is presumed as no longer in contact or deceased by then.
