In the 1881 Census George is a Blacksmith living with his wife Elizabeth and family.

In the 1891 Census there is a George Whitton (Blacksmith) born in Bedale in about 1835 who is a convict in a Dorset prison. He is also listed in the Portland 1891 prison listing which has an entry: Whitton George, b1834, Bedale, Yorkshire.

Found in the 1901 at Bedale but not the 1911 census.

George's father Thomas was also Blacksmith.
