1. Richard BRADSHAW
The surname - Bradshaw, like many old surnames, comes in a variety of spellings. If searching it may be necessary to consider variations such as Bradshawe, Bradsha, Bradsho, Bradshaigh and others. Bradshaw is not an unusual surname and there are plenty with the surname around Lancashire and the same person may be found recorded under more than one spelling.
From burial records Richard was born about 1757. There are a number of baptisms in the Lancashire area that are possible for this Richard so it is not credible to go back any further without more information.
Richard son of William of Eccleston baptised 15 Mar 1754 at Copp Chapel, on Wyre.
Richard son of Richard born 6 May 1756 in Heysham.

From Licence: Richard was over 21 and Elizabeth was 21 and the bondsman were Richard Bradshaw and William Wignal.
It is interesting to note that a William Wignal, a husbandman of parish of Kirkham, aged 21 and upwards (signed as X) married by licence at St Michael, Kirkham on 4 Apr 1779 a Jennet Bradshaw, spinster of the Parish of Kirkham, aged over 21. The witnesses were Robert Bell and John Swan and the licence bondsman was John Simpson, Innkeeper of Kirkham. A William Wignell of Larbrick was buried on 3 Mar 1821 at Kirkham, aged 64 (ie born about 1757) and a Jennet Wignal was buried 1 Jan 1797 at Kirkham. Possible baptisms of Jennat Bradshawe are that on 29 Jan 1758 at Kirkham with parents John Bradshawe of Larbrick and Ann Bradshawe, or on 6 May 1753 to parents William Bradshawe and Ann of Wesham. So it is possible that Jennat Bradshaw and Richard Bradshaw are related but currently this has not been confirmed.
