He married Margaret Levis with Henry born Mobile Alabama 26th Jan 1839 died Germanstown PA 16th Nov 1920. Other children possibly Frances and Rebecca?. Joseph's obituary was posted in the Philadelphia Inquirer and stated he was formerly of New Orleans and Pennsylvania. Although said to have died Texas buried Laurel Hill Cemetery Philadelphia. It seems that Joseph innocently informed Margaret how useful some money would help to in a milling enterprise. Margaret his aunt wrung out of John Tipping an undertaking that he would pay Josephs travel expenses in coming to see him. Joseph came but John Tipping reneged and wouldn't see him or give Joseph his expenses.

Joseph Wood
BIRTH 17 Mar 1805 Bolton, Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England
DEATH 26 Mar 1861 (aged 56) Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA
BURIAL Laurel Hill Cemetery Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
John was born 27th Jan 1807 and died 21st Sep 1872, buried Leverington Cemetery Roxborough. He married Jane Doughty /Dougherty and had six children. It seems that John Wood Junior here married out contrary to Quaker discipline and this came to the notice of his fellow Quakers who tried with him, but who were not of the opinion that he was in the right disposition of mind to acknowledge his error. Of course this phrase could be interpreted in various ways i.e. bloody minded and having none of it, in drink or even mental illness. It simply could be that he had his head turned by a woman and he preferred her to his religion. A record of events and actions was recorded in Quaker minutes. It seems that John would have had the opportunity to explain the situation and even appeal. Seemingly he didn't do so. John seems to have been disowned in 1835 and his burial was not a Quaker one as Leverington Cemetery in Roxborough was a non denominational burial ground for everyone. Jane is said to be born 1804 died died 2nd April 1875 buried Leverington.

There was at least one child William Tipping baptised St Peters Liverpool 20th Aug 1843. It does appear that that this family are no longer holding with the Quaker faith and this is strengthened again when sister Sarah Ann marries.

William Holmes
Henry Edward HolmesSome family research advises that William Curran Holmes immigrated from England to New orleans with his wife and 4 children in 1849 aboard the ship Dibden. He worked in a cotton brokerage firm as an accountant. In 1849, the family lived in the French Quarter at the corner for Bourbon Street and St. Jeanne Baptiste Street (now Bienville Street), diagonally across from the former Vieus Carre Cafe. His also served at Host for the City, hosting royalty, dignitaries, diplomats, and other important individuals. The Holmes family moved to Missouri and illinois prior to the Civil War, but moved back to New Orleans in 1866. At that time they lived in a home where the Charity Hospital is ccurrently located (as of the 1970's). Unfortunately, in 1870, William died from "congestion of the brain". His wife was Elisabeth Clarke Tipping Holmes, who moved back to Mattoon, Illinois with the remaining family. Per the family history, William Curran Holmes was a close friend of John Salter, which resulted in his being buried on the Salter lot in the Washington Cemetery No. 1 (now known as Lafayette Cemetery No.1 1 in the Garden District of New Orleans). He is not listed in the cemetery records, nor is John Salter buried on the lot. It is unknown if this is accurate information.

OBITUARY
W. T. BONNOR.
By the death of Mr. William T. Bonnor, brother of Mr. James Bonnor, of Orange, at Wellington on Saturday, a link with the early history of the west has been severed. Born at Bathurst 76 years ago, the deceased spent most of his life there and for over 30 years he carried on a produce business in the City of the Plains. Relinquishing business twenty years ago, he came to Orange and after residing here with his brothers James and George (the famous cricketer) for some time, his son, Samuel William, entered the Methodist Ministry and they went to Sydney to reside. The Rev. S. W. Bonnor was then transferred to Coonamble, and afterwards to Wellington, and his father resided with him till his death. The remains were conveyed to Kelso on Monday and interred in the old Church of England cemetery alongside the remains of his father and other members of the family. His wife predeceased him some years.Mrs. Sadlear (Sydney) and Mrs. Cubis (Randwick) are sisters. It is worthy of note that Mr. James Bon-
nor's uncle, Robert Bonnor, arrived in Bathurst in 1820.
